There's a lot to be said for screwing all the cabinets together prior to installing them on the wall. By working on them on the floor you'll be able to level them more easily and match up all of the screw holes without having to work above your head. Of course, the downside of this method is the weight of the entire unit of cabinets. You may need several helpers in order to get an entire set of wall cabinets attached to your wall.
A lot of the preference for one method of installing kitchen cabinets over another is your own personal taste. You're the best judge of the space you have to work in, the manpower you can round up to help, and whether or not you think one method will work better for you than another. If you absolutely don't feel like you're equal to the task, you can always hire a professional installer to do the job for you.
